We took a few foosball breaks. Foosball is pretty addicting.

When sean came over, the attackers had left, but while I went to get my camera for evidence, sean saw them return and drag the guy on the ground a little. At that point, he called the berkeley police, and within a minute there were multiple cop cars and bicycle cops swarming peoples park.

I noticed that one of the main attackers was talking calmly to the police officers, and then was allowed to walk away, so sean and I went down to tell the officers what we saw. We weren't very comfortable talking in people's park, so the officer took us around the corner, and we had a brief conversation. He took down our contact info and asked me to email him my photos. Sadly, I didn't get any good photographs of the attacker's face, and I wouldn't be able to recognize any faces if they were presented to me. I did get pictures of other people looting the guy's pockets while he was hurt and on the ground. An ambulance took him away, and later the police report said that the victim suffered "minor injuries." From what I witnessed, the injuries definitely weren't minor.

While we were talking to the officers outside our apartment, josh and chris came arrived, and were surprised to see us talking to police officers. After staring at us for a while, they went upstairs. After we were done talking, we went up to their apartment, but pretended that we were the ones in trouble.

Sean said, "Uh... Can you not tell anyone about this for now?...".

Josh looked really worried for us, and said, "Sure... Do you guys want to come in and talk about it?". We went in, laughed, and told them the real story.

I'm really impressed at how quickly the police responded to the call. They were at the park before Sean got off the phone, and quite a few showed up in less than a minute. Twas very impressive.

Joseph had a final exam at 8am this morning. He woke up at 6am, went out to the living room to study, but fell asleep again on the sofa. Somehow (by God's grace), he woke up exactly at 8am, realized what time it was, grabbed some necessities, and ran out the door towards campus. On the way to campus, he didn't know where he was going, since he was planning on checking the room location in the morning. Thus, he called some classmates while he was running in the direction of campus and found out the test location. Somehow, he managed to arrive on time right before the test was administered.

The police decided that no one else was in danger because the shooting wasn't a random thing... The suspect still hasn't been caught. In the evening, Sang told us that he was at the Y when the shooting happened, and heard the six gunshots. Andrew Stucki was in the room, and confidently told everyone, "those weren't gunshots." A few minutes later, the sounds of police car and ambulance sirens started blaring.

At midnight, we celebrated Aarons birthday by surprising him while he was studying at Dana house.

Two more days of studying before my first final exam friday morning at 8am.

There was a group of people near Sather Gate tonight holding what looked like a candlelight vigil for the earthquake in china. I still remember seeing the first news headlines of the disaster on CNN a couple nights ago.

I'm trying extra hard to finish off this semester with good grades, since it's the last semester that I'll have on my transcript before I apply for the 5th year master's program.

I ordered a veggie delight salad from intermezzo today with extra beans. Boy, they gave me a lot...

I mostly just took pictures of the senior guys. Most of the photographs were taken at ISO100 f/2.8. The sun was a little too strong, making the photographs a little too contrasty, and I wasn't using a fill flash, but I was generally pleased with the results.

From there, I went to photograph ImpACT. The program started with worship (which ended in prayer), and then Maurice gave a message. From the large group time, the kids moved into small group time in the classrooms, where they made crafts for their mothers for mothers day, including bath salts. Here are a couple more.

In the evening, a lot of us went to dwinelle and studied there until midnight.

Really random pictures today. Realized late into the evening that I hadn't taken any pictures all day.

We used the lobby area of Wurster hall, and did a lot to give it a "gallery feel". There was also a LOT of food and drinks, including hundreds of dollars spent on wine (not that I drank any).

(Just a note: sparkling mineral water is pretty gross.)

We spent from 1-5pm setting up the exhibition, putting up the biographies, setting up the food, installing the projection of our website, hanging up all the matted photographs, etc... The actual gallery was from 5-8pm. I wasn't able to make it to bible study tonight because the class was required to help take down the exhibition and clean up.

The exhibition turned out very well and went very smoothly. Everyone seemed to enjoy the work we put up. I think I should have personally invited more people, rather than simply announce it on this blog like I did this week... Only Ditha showed up for a while. Haha. Oh well.

I was done at wurster in time to meet up with my homegroup. We went to the room on the first floor of the Y to have some food, games, and a time of reflecting with the graduating seniors.

From there, I went back to davis with joseph.

We had a pretty sizable gracepoint group watching Iron Man together. Twas a decent movie.

Iron Man:

I spent most of my "study time" today working on my final algorithms problem set of the semester. These problem sets take a long time, and sometimes I spent hours thinking about a single problem.

Two days until our exhibition in wurster hall. 5pm friday.

We'll be having a preview showing of our exhibition this friday in Wurster hall from 5pm to 8pm. There will be refreshments provided, and the prints we put up will be final prints that will be going up in the addison street window gallery exhibition we're putting on early next year.

We should have copies of our book for sale at the exhibition. From what I've seen of the book so far, it's going to be really, really nice. It will be selling for somewhere around 20-30 dollars.

I could link to the website, but it's probably better if you find out the website at the wurster showing, since seeing the photographs beforehand would make the experience a little less exciting. I might link to the website after friday...

I finally realized today why a lot of people say python is their favorite programming language. After working in C on postgresql code for days, switching over to python turned out to be a beautiful experience. Ok. Enough "nerdy" for today...

When I was getting my immunization, I forgot that people told me that my arm would be sore of the rest of the day. If I had remembered, I would have told the nurse to stab me in the left arm instead. If I was James Bond, I would have realized the danger at the last millisecond, and then swung my body around with lightning speed (though from my perspective it would be in slow motion), having my left arm stop under the approaching needle just as it pierces the surface of my rock hard skin. If I was Spiderman, my spider-sense would have gone off as soon as the nurse entered the room, but then again, the needle wouldn't have been able to pierce my skin anyway.

Sadly, I am neither James Bond nor Spideman, and my right (useful) arm was sore for the rest of the day.

At 6 the small group went to eat at lotus house, and at 7 we had gracepoint monthly. We had worship, the montly recap, a springfest video, senior testimonies, a short message, a little more worship, and an announcement regarding the people who will be going to austin to participate in the church plant.

The activity afterwards was at henry's house in alameda. We ate some food and played the game "loaded questions".
