Embarked on the first youth group winter retreat this afternoon (normally we have camping trips in the summer). Met up with our caravan (joe’s car) at church at 4pm. Left at around 4:30 after everyone arrived. Ran into some traffic on the way while in and close to davis, but it cleared up after a bit.

We’ve been praying that it wouldn’t be snowy and dangerous on the way, since when joe and jess went on their scouting expedition a while back they ran into a ton of snow. Praise God: the weather was perfect, and the roads didn’t need any chains.

Stopped at McDonalds and Subway on the way for dinner.

Got to Leoni Meadows at around 7:30 or 7:45. Unpacked our stuff into our cabins, and then gathered in the meeting area for the message. After I led the first worship set, we moved over to cabin 43, since we wanted to give the staff in the building some peace and quiet (we started too late).

Having a message in a cabin had a very Acts-ish feel to it. Was very cool.

Brian T. spoke to us about the purpose of man and the gospel.

Went back to our cabins afterward to discuss and get ready for bed. A couple of the youth stayed up talking (telling riddles), and I ended up making makeshift earplugs out of toilet paper in order to fall asleep.
