Nepal And Missions January 15, 2012

Woke up at 7, listened to some worshipmob, ate a little breakfast, and then picked up lucas on the way to church for worship practice. I was the only non-youth on the stage today. Didn’t have rob next to me, but brandon instead. Things came together and worked out well, as it always does. God is faithful.

Had a — as joyce would call it — “God moment” today. Recited the first part of Psalm 63 during the worship set because I felt like it fit the set and would contribute to it. Was shocked during PG’s sermon to find that he had also selected the exact same passage as his opening verse. We had both arrived at the same verse for service today even though it’s not a very commonly quoted Psalm. Definitely think that the holy spirit wanted the congregation to meditate on those words this morning.

O God, you are my God,
earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you,
my body longs for you,
in a dry and weary land
where there is no water.

I have seen you in the sanctuary
and beheld your power and your glory.
Because your love is better than life,
my lips will glorify you.
I will praise you as long as I live,
and in your name I will lift up my hands.
My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods;
with singing lips my mouth will praise you.
Psalm 63:1-5

In sunday school george led us through a lesson on writing and sharing testimonies. We broke up into small groups to share. George asked for volunteers at the end, and joseph l. stood up and shared his.

Some of us went to nemaste nepal for the lunch buffet after church, since we didn’t have church lunch today. Ate a little (or a good amount) past being comfortably full. Haha.

Rested in the afternoon. Watched the packers lose to the giants. Went to dave and vivian’s place at 5pm for their monthly missions prayer meeting. We had dinner together, heard margaret share about taiwan, and then split into two groups to pray for taiwan and other missionaries.
