Work was kinda rough today. Though a tip I posted, discovered that my method of storing developed negatives in film canisters probably isn’t the best idea, so I’m going to be switching over to standard PrintFile sleeves and a binder. Twitter also went down for a while this afternoon, interrupting my workflow.

Went to Elizabeth’s surprise birthday party at 7pm. There was a couple false alarms before she arrived, but we succeeded in surprising her. I brought my M6 instead of my 5D because I wanted to get better with it, but I soon experienced two of the big downsides to using it compared to the 5D.

First, it was a low light environment so I was stuck at f/2 for most of the evening. Thus, I had to nail the focus in each shot, which was time-consuming and meant I missed a lot of good shots that I would have gotten with my 5D.

Second, just as they everyone was about to sing happy birthday, I hit the end of a roll. The song ended by the time I loaded the camera with another roll of film, and I missed getting a shot of her blowing out the candles. Urg.
