My main assignment at VBS today was to take portraits of the kids individually on stage behind the sand castle holding a surfboard. We did the portraits rapid fire before each of the groups’ games times, and will be printing the photos out to give to the kids at the end of VBS as a souvenier.

Shot with my 70-200mm the whole day today. I appreciated how the f/2.8 and IS allowed me to do non-blurry indoor shots at 200mm. The bokeh is quite nice as well. People kept saying how I had a “huge camera” though, haha.

The snack today was naan with chutney. The apple sauce and curry chutney was extremely delicious (we had it with ritz crackers first before getting some leftover naan).

As photographer, I’m not really interating much with kids this week, so I don’t know how things are going with the individual groups. One of the big things today was sharing the gospel though, so hopefully the teachers got a chance to do that.

Jacks game today was “snowball fighting”, which is a toned down variation of the legendary newspaper game we used to have at VBSes when I was growing up. Kids crumpled up some paper, then had a certain amount of time to throw them all over to the other team’s side before time ran out. Whichever side ended up with the most paper lost.

Left VBS half an hour early to do some work, then went to joseph L’s place at 1:50 to accompany him to his drivers license test. He was a bit nervous before it started, but apparently did fine because he got his license and was only marked down for two minor things. Congrats joseph!
