Playoff Hope Lost October 26, 2009

I had my second to last IM soccer game of the season tonight. We (the Defenestrators) played Mike P.’s team, and needed to win in order to make playoffs. Going into the game, I didn’t think we had much hope, since we’ve only won 2 games and they haven’t lost yet. However, we were at full strength with everyone there.

For the games we lost this season, we sometimes didn’t even have a complete team on the field. Once we had only 4 players on the field playing 6.

It was a pretty painful loss, especially because we were so close. I had plenty of good opportunities to score, but couldn’t capitalize on any of them. One of my shots even ricocheted off the goal post.

Maybe I’m starting to go past my prime?
