We had our third annual group reunion dinner tonight, and met at anna’s place at “5pm”. We got to the restaurant pretty late, and missed our 5:30 reservation by around half an hour. The group split into two tables, and ordered as separate tables. It was my first time eating thai food, and it tasted interesting…

Most of the food was spicy, and a couple dishes used coconut milk, which I hear is an aquired taste. At a little past 8 we paid the bill and drove back to davis, where we had tickets for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

The movie was great, but I can understand why non-christians might not see anything special about it. If viewed simply as a pointless story with no meaning, the movie is pretty weak and cheesy, but if you watch it as an allegory as it was meant to be, then it accomplishes what it needs to. I think they told the story very well, and the child actor for Lucy did an incredible job. Certain scenes were definitely a bit on the cheesy side, but they add a lot of humor and can certainly be overlooked.

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe:

Narnia!

After the movie, everyone met at Lynn’s apartment for ice cream, piano, john cai storytelling, and talking. We split up and went home at 1 or 2 in the morning.
