Sunday Send Off June 12, 2005
Our sendoff for the mexico team was between the two church services today. Two elders of the church prayed for the team before we would leave later in the afternoon. After lunch, at around 1 pm, the team said goodbye, filed into the two vehicles, and began our long journey towards southern california.
The drive was pretty interesting. Unless we were sleeping, we were playing random trivia and testing our knowledge at random facts. Joseph sure knows a lot about Russian history and world war two. For dinner we ate at Carls Jr. in bakersfield.
When we got to Indigo at night, we went and stayed at a best western hotel. After putting everything away in the rooms, most of the team went swimming in the swimming pool. After the pool closed at 10, we all went back to our rooms. Us guys in our room watched tv, and there wasn’t really anything good on, until Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Azkaban came on. We watched it until it finished in the morning.
An interesting thing that happened was jeremy’s bathroom problem. After he came out of the bathroom and I went in, I discovered he had a floaty sitting around in the toilet. I tried flushing the toilet, but suddenly it started flooding. There wasn’t a plunger there, so Eugene tried to unplug it by taking a coathanger, bending it open, and spearing the toilet. Didn’t work. We finally called the desk and they sent a plunger up.
