Bodega Crabbing

My family went on a day trip to Bodega bay today with two other families. We spent the day there doing different things. The moms stayed on the beach talking, the kids ran around on the rocks finding small crabs, and my dad and I spent the whole day catching crabs. It was extremely fun and quite relaxing.
We brought along some pretty ghetto equipment for catching crabs. We took some netted bags, put some fish meat in them, tied the end of a string to the bags, and threw them into the water. This method allowed us to literally "fish" for crabs. I could feel all the little tugs when the crabs latched on, and could tell if they fell off while hauling them in.
In the beginning we thought we were at a disadvantage since we didn't have the large crabbing cages. However, my brother's friends dad went and bought one, only to find that it didn't catch that many.
Using a cage would also forfeit the fun of actively fishing for the crabs, since you just haul it in and check for crabs every so often.
Got extremely sunburned.
Shortly after we arrived, I heard some people talking about a dead seal. Walking back to the beach from the rocks, I saw that there was in fact a large dead seal that had washed up onto shore. Kids were standing around staring at it.
Twas a pretty nasty sight.
Got a G1 today from a guy via craigslist. Won't be getting a data plan, so I'll just use it with wifi. Since wifi is pretty much everywhere on campus, it'll be useful next year during school.
