Today was commission sunday, and we gathered after the english and mandarin services at 11:45 in the sanctuary to send off a large group of church members going to various corners of the world in the coming weeks for short term missions. There headed to places like kenya, thailand, taiwan, etc...

After sending off the short term missionaries, we also witnessed the ordination of Eugene as a deacon and chair of the missions committee. Eugene has been very active in missions to mexico, and I've gone on three trips with him so far. I'm excited to see how God will continue to use Eugene regarding missions.

Today was also my brother's 14th birthday. We had a small celebration as a family, and later in the evening Tedd and his family came over to combine our celebrations. They were born in the same hospital at the same time. I still kinda remember that day/night 14 years ago, when I was 8.

Happy birthday Isaac!

Had some weird lighting today. Natural light streaming in through the side door while yellow lights were blazing up above.

In the morning, had the privilege of watching Roger Federer win his record-tying 14th grand slam live. It's the first time he's won the french open (nadal losing earlier definitely helped), and it was definitely history in the making. Took a picture of championship point. Now it's hard to argue that Federer is the greatest player to ever play the game.

Trick candles are pretty funny.
