Near And Far

Took a break from school projects today and played some soccer with my dad and brother. I twisted my ankle at our playoff basketball game this past tuesday, and it's still kinda sore, stiff and slightly swollen. I had a group meeting in a google chatroom this evening to our on a business presentation.

The terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India just came to an end today. At least 195 people died and 327 were injured in terrorists staged eight attacks with guns, bombs, and hostage taking.

Got this in my inbox today:

Congratulations! You have been *CONDITIONALLY* recommended for admission to the new EECS Five Year Bachelor's/Master's Program. We would like to commend you for your exceptionally strong accomplishments as an undergraduate and your motivation to continue for the Master's degree.

The condition for admission is acknowledgment of the following statement: *I understand that department financial support is not available to students in the 5th Year BSMS program. I will not be eligible for a GSI. I have sufficient financial resources to undertake this program."

Please send acknowledgment and acceptance to [name omitted] no later than Friday, December 19, 2008.

NOTE:
*Admission by the Graduate Division is contingent on your maintaining a good academic standing.
*GRE's are not required for graduate admission through this program.
*Your undergraduate degree must be complete before you will be allowed to begin the graduate program.

Praise God. Thanks to everyone who helped me out in the process by reviewing my resume, reading my statements, writing letters of rec for me, encouraging me, and praying for me.
