Growing up, we would always call the giant field behind our house our "big backyard." It was the field I ran across all the time growing up to play with my buddy chris, and we spent days running around in it, climbing trees, and throwing dirt clods at each other. I took a walk around it today with my mom.

At the west end of the field is the davis cemetary. I think technically the field behind my house is going to be part of the cemetary too, but it will be another few hundred years until the land will need to be used. Until then, there's a track around the field and it used to be used for dog walking.

I just walked around and tried to take interesting photographs of things that cought my eye.

A plane crashed on takeoff in Spain today. The type of plane was similar to what I flew between Taiwan and Cambodia this summer.

Spent some time today redesigning this photoblog. I've pretty much redesigned it every year around the end of august. The red seal in the upper right hand corner is going to be the link to the main page now, and is a seal of my name. Our scanner broke, so I had to take a photograph of the seal and process it a little in photoshop.

this is an amazing backyard! i like all the pictures with your shadow in them. at the MoMA, there was a photo exhibit that was a collection of random pictures that all had the photographer's shadow in them. such an interesting, odd element! :)
