Got a call from ben during the day asking me if I was available for an epic nerf war tonight. We all gathered at the death star on the UC Davis campus after youth group ended at around 9:45 or 10. We parked in the orange hut parking lot, and checked over our equipment, distributing many of the darts lynn bought.

At 10:20, we walked over to the death star, split into two teams, and began playing a "reverse sardines" game that one of us suggested. After about twenty minutes of that, we found ourselves gathered on the second or third floor looking down at the entrance of the death star, and noticed a group of people walking towards us.

As they got closer, I noticed they seemed to be holding nerf guns. A little closer still, and I suddenly noticed that one of them looked like Chris Stedronsky... Finally, it dawned on me that Chris and his friends had also come to play nerf at the death star...

What the...

We shouted down at them and challenged them to a war, which they accepted. For the next two hours we ran around the death star engaging in massive nerf gun battles. We spent most of the time doing us vs. them, but after a while we split up into a few different teams and played an "arena" battle in an enclosed area on the lowest floor.

Twas the most fun I've had in a long time.

When we first started out doing us vs. them, our team split up into two groups. My team consisted of me, jeremy, jaron, and wei wei. We decided to seek higher ground, and went up two or three floors along a stairway that wraps around an elevator. Basically it was a tower that we went up. Once we were at the top, we couldn't see much, but decided to hold our ground there instead of go back down and risk being shot from above. As we were hiding around corners and aiming our guns at the stairwell, suddenly we heard the elevator "ding", and our oppoents come out of it. Jeremy was so startled he hit one of them with his nerf gun.

We scored a lot of kills in our location before they finally rushed up and overwhelmed us.
