Before my parents went to prayer meeting tonight, we went to chestnut to play some tennis. After finding the tennis courts occupied, we went and played a little baseball. While pitching and hitting, I suddenly turned and saw a group of teens chasing an old man on a bike. The situation turned ugly pretty fast.

After they caught up to him, they beat him a little and forced him off his bike. He started defending himself by swinging his backpack, but they countered by swinging a belt and belt buckle at him. He took off his own belt and tried to fight back, while one of the kids went and took his new-looking silver mountain bike.

As soon as it had begun, the kids biked and skateboarded off in the other direction. My dad took photographs of the incident, and on the way home we happened to see the man, some passerbys, and a police officer. We did a U-turn, and went to show the officer the photos we took. The police officer didn't seem very interested in the photographs, and told us they were too blurry to be useful.

The incident felt very similar to what I experienced in Berkeley earlier this year.

My dad and I went to watch the 10:30pm screening of The Dark Knight tonight after he returned from prayer meeting. I was pretty shocked to find a sign that said it was sold out when we got to the theaters. I can't believe it's still so popular more than three weeks after it was released.

We'll go again next week, when tickets are 4.50 with the tuesday discount.
