We visited Stanley park for most of the day today. The drive from Surrey took about half an hour, and we made a few wrong turns in Vancouver that delayed us a bit because of heavy traffic and one way streets. We finally arrived, purchased a park-wide parking permit, and started exploring the park.

Stanley park is gigantic, and has too many trails and notable locations for us to visit in a single day. We picked out some key points and trails in the park, and also played some golf. We played 18 holes of putting instead of the larger chipping course, since they told us that the larger course would take 3 to 4 hours to complete.

Near the end of our visit to the park, we walked a little into the city to eat lunch, and then relaxed for a while on a beach there (I got a slight sunburn).

After Stanley Park, we drove across downtown Vancouver and went to the Chinatown there, walking around for an hour or two before the Chinatown Night Market started at 6:30pm. While we were walking around, we walked too far in one direction, out of chinatown, and into a really shady area that had questionable folk everywhere on the sidewalks and in the alleyways. We quickly made our way back in the other direction. I think the street's name was "Hastings", but I'm not sure.

The chinatown night market was much smaller than we expected, only spanning about two blocks of a closed off street. The vendors there weren't selling anything interesting or worthwhile, and the food wasn't as good as we thought it would be. After eating a little in the market, we ended up finishing dinner in a restaurant on the same street.

At about 8:20, we left the market and visited a family friend in Burnaby. We had a little difficulty getting there, since we couldn't find the home on our GPS. While my parents talked to the friend, my brother and I went out back and played some badminton and basketball.

We then left and returned to Surrey for some much needed sleep.
