Feels weird to be back in the United States. I'm missing the Cambodia teammates I grew so close to through the past two weeks of working together. Went to sunday service this morning at my home church, and listened to a message from 1 Thessalonians 4 by Pastor Gee regarding the resurrection.
Dropped off and picked up my brother off at and from Round Table Pizza for chess this afternoon. Spent a good portion of the afternoon trying to catch up on this photoblog by adding entries for my Cambodia days. Takes a long time.
After picking up my brother and dropping him off at home, I went to the library and checked out two books by CS Lewis and two Sherlock Holmes books. I got the Screwtape Letters, a book I've checked out numerous times but have never been able to finish. Maybe this time will be different...
In the evening my family and I went to chestnut park for some exercise. I tried out the two Babolat racquets I recently purchased. We originally gave them to my brother for his birthday, but since they're pure drive plus racquets rather than standard length, we're going to get different racquets for him. It works out, since I needed racquets too (I'm going to be making a tennis comeback attempt).
There have been many wildfires in California in the past few days. CNN says there's more than 500, and many of them were sparked by lightning. It's hot and dry these days, and we can see the dark smoke in the distance as well as the hazy air that has enveloped Davis.
My brother showed me his junior high report card today. Since plus and minus grades don't matter at his school, he did quite well this semester: five A's and two B's. Congrats Isaac.
