Today was the last day of classes for most of our ministry groups here (international, primary, secondary, college). Tomorrow most teams are going to be helping out with chapel but not with teaching. My ministry group, International, is still going to be teaching since the school ends at noon.

After chapel, another phonics class, a team meeting, and a circle time, my kids and their teachers gave me some presents, since it was potentially my last day with them. I felt bad receiving gifts from the class, since many of them are so poor they cannot afford books or even a nice eraser.

The teachers gave me a glass block with a 3D picture inside that rests on a thing that lights it up. I'm not sure what it's called or how to describe it better. I didn't expect to receive anything like what I did today, and am very thankful that I now have some things to remember the kids and teachers by.

Between lunch and dinner, I helped out with some of the last classes that other ministry groups were teaching.

After dinner, the whole team and some college students left the University campus and walked through town. We split into three groups and stopped at three different street vendors selling fruit smoothies and jelly snacks. I forget what the drinks were called, but it sounds something like "tagalog", or "tagalo". I was part of the third group, so we walked the farthest and stopped at a place that was nicer than the others, but also surrounded by pickpockets and beggars. We had to be very careful with our stuff, since some kids were walking around us and obviously looking around for our things.

In addition to the fruit drinks (some people got durian), there was also a fertilized egg dish that had a chicken or duck embryo inside. Some of us, like Stucki, were brave enough to try it, but I opted not to, since I didn't like the idea of eating something that still resembled a chick (with feathers too...)

We ended the day back at Life University with some fellowship time with the theology students there (who have been our translators during this trip). There was singing, dancing, beatboxing, and magic. Finally, we split into groups and had time of prayer before ending the night.

As we were going to bed, Isaiah and I managed to catch a gecko in the cafeteria. We set it free on Isaiah's wall so it could take care of mosquitoes for them. Also, some of us spent some time in Jay's room, and learned a little about harmonizing from him.

Stucki had to get his leg treated tonight. He got some mosquito bites, and some of them are reacting very weirdly, turning into huge things that look like giant rashes or bruises.
