| « Cambodia Sunday | Gospelfest Night » |

Classes resumed today. We had breakfast 6 and then went to the International school at 7:30 for chapel. I got to see the kids raise the Cambodian flag outside the school. At chapel time we sang 3 songs in the beginning, had a message by Michelle about Daniel and the lion’s den, and then one song at the end.
At 8:30, after breakfast, we went and taught phonics in our individual classrooms. My phonics lesson was much more interactive and enjoyable than the dry, boring one I started out with last week. The sound of the day was ‘br’ and I assigned different motions to the words: brush, broom, bread, brick, brat, and brag. Whenever I said a word, I asked the kids to do the motion as quickly as they could.
Afterwards, at 9, we had a mission team meeting in the office of the main university building. For the rest of the day, we prepared for Gospelfest tomorrow and Joyfest on Wednesday.
For Joyfest, we’re having a carnival type event for kids, and will have games like balloon blast, dodgeball, soccer star, pin the tail on the water buffalo, blazing bowling, and 6 or 7 others.
After a mandatory rest time (during which Isaiah and Robert arm wrestled), we had a fellowship time with Life university faculty at 8pm, during which we played pictionary, charades, and then drew and shared life timelines.
Before bedtime, the race of a lifetime skit team and the worship team had another practice session.
I did laundry quite a few times since coming to Cambodia, but I think I’ve done something wrong every time. My “washed” clothes have turned out to smell horrible after they dry, and I’ve washed them multiple times. I think an earlier issue is that I didn’t use detergent… Hmm…
Played soccer again this afternoon with a lot of mission team people and life university students. After some warmup, we played Life U vs. Mission team. We were destroyed pretty quickly. The score ended up being something like 4, 5, or 6 to 0 their favor. Our team had a few opportunities but we couldn’t capitalize. On one attempt I fell pretty hard and scraped up my legs in the dirt.
An interesting thing we've discovered here at Life University is the fact that sometimes flattened animals or insects can be found stuck to door frames. We've found a lizard/gecko and a huge spider so far.
Here are two daily updates that was sent to church members back home:
