We had our last classes of the week today in International school, since tomorrow is going to be Saturday. My circle time today was better than last time, since I played a game with the class rather than bore them to death one way or another (talking about hardware in computer class for example).
After chapel and class were over at 9am, we had our daily DT time, worship time, and team meeting.
In the afternoon I helped with two English conversation classes, both with 10th graders. The first group wasn’t very proficient, so talking with them proved to be very difficult and occasionally frustrating. There was only one 20 year old boy who spoke decently well and was willing to talk and translate certain things for the other 5 or 6 students in my group, but most of the others were very quiet.
The group I had in the second class was much better, since they could generally understand my questions and seemed interested in talking about things. By the end, they were trying to teach me things in Khmer.
In the evening, our team split into two groups, Team A and Team B, and left for two different villages to spend the night. Our village was Bengtaproum. We had a special program in the village church that involved our thirst skit, magic for the kids, music, a message, the clown skit by sang, isaiah, and stephen, and crafts. The village I went to tonight was somewhere around an hour away, and was a Muslim village. Most of the women who came to our program night wore scarves on their heads.
Afterwards, we sang some songs as if we were around a campfire, and then settled down for the night. The guys slept on the cement floor of the sanctuary of the church.
Here's the daily update that was sent to church members back home:
