Interpraise was at 7pm today at VLSB. I started walking there with sean, but learned that there was something wrong with photoblog.com, so I had to walk home and fix it. While I was fixing it, tommy came into our apartment, not knowing that interpraise was tonight. I then walked there with tommy.

After interpraise, some of us went to study in main stacks. I spent most of the time figuring out some more problems with photoblog. I think it was a combination of internet network problems and photoblog server issues. I hear AT&T had some serious issues with their network today...

At 12, we left main stacks and went to crossroads.

We had some pretty good talks tonight, starting from when we were eating at crossroads. From crossroads, we walked back to dwight and gathered for a while in apartment 9.

Was struck by a point that Jim Elliot made in his journal today, while reading "Shadow of the Almighty.” Jim notes that David, with all of his fame, military might, and leadership ability, never lead his people into battle without first consulting God. "This lack of self-confidence marks him as God's man for guiding others," he writes.

While self-confidence is something that is prized and preached in our culture, it is quite fitting that a Christian should give up self-confidence to gain God-confidence.

"The LORD is my shepherd," Psalm 23 begins. If sheep could think rationally and intelligibly, they would not put their confidence in themselves, but would rather trust completely in their shepherd, the one who leads, protects, and provides.
