Had my algorithms midterm this morning at 9:30. Twas brutal. In the middle of the exam, I almost panicked, after looking at the clock and seeing that half the time was gone, while my test was still mostly blank. Some sort of miracle happened during the second half of the exam, because somehow I lived...
I wrote gibberish on some of the questions, even a 20 point one (out of 100), but I managed to finish without leaving anything completely blank. Talking to classmates after the test, it seems they thought it was crazily hard as well.
On the first midterm, the average was 46, and I got a 49...
I think it was the first time I've felt like giving up and losing hope during the middle of a test here at Berkeley.
I spent the rest of the day at home and at the Y, resting, getting some work done, playing guitar, and hanging out with people.
At 10pm, many of the junior brothers and I went to hot pot to celebrate Jacob's birthday. It was the second time I've gone to the hot pot buffet. I'll have to eat salads for lunch and dinner a few times this week to balance out my diet.
I was sitting on the couch today working at my computer, with sean taking a nap on the sofa to my left. Suddenly, Derrick bursts into the apartment saying, "Oh my gosh, I need ramen, NOW!"
This afternoon joseph made a huge omelet because we had some eggs in the fridge. I took a bite to taste, but then suddenly remembered that I was going to the korean bbq buffet tonight. "Oops. I shouldn't have taken the bite. I should go spit it out...", I exclaimed.
Joseph looked at me and said, "Chew it up first so you can get the flavor!"
