I've been studying so much these days I haven't had time to take photos through the day, so I've been taking boring photos at the end of the day. Today, I pulled out my camera on the way to a day of studying at soda hall, and took photographs of people while walking from the hip... aka secretly.

My point and shoot wasn't good enough to take clear photographs the way I was shooting today, since it was cloudy and my shutter speed isn't fast enough to prevent motion blur. On the other hand, I kinda like the crazy photos today, since they kinda convey the craziness I've been going through this week.

I spent 9 hours from 12 to 9 in soda hall. From there, I went to princeton review and studied until midnight. I feel very unprepared for this test. I took Artificial Intelligence this semester because I heard it was one of the easier computer science courses, but either I heard wrong, or the professor I'm taking it from is much harder than anyone else who teaches it. Judging by the material we're covering, I think I heard wrong.

From 6-9pm, we had a review session.

I found out today that I was awarded honorable mention for the Eisner photography prize at UC Berkeley, one of the largest prizes for photography that the campus currently offers... I didn't expect to win anything, since I didn't even have time to mat the three photos before submitting them. I had decided that if I won the $2000 (for the two winners) I would use it for missions. Oh well. Praise God anyway that I won honorable mention.

Here's a copy of the email I received:

Dear All,

The results of the Eisner Photo-imaging contest are as follows:

Lauren Rudser ($2000)
&
Stefan Johannes Al ($2000)

Honorable Mention:

Chao Michael Zhang
&
Tollef Biggs

The photos of the winners and honorable mention recipients will be displayed in Wurster Hall during the month of April (most likely in the display case in front of Ramona’s Café).

All other photos are available for pickup in the Prizes Office, 229 Sproul Hall (M-F 9-12 and 1-4).

Please pickup your photos prior to May 1, 2008

Thank you.

Jimmy Ausemus
Prizes coordinator

If you want to check out the photographs I submitted for the contest, you can see then in Wurster hall next month.

thanks :-) I hear 181 is pretty intense. I might try and take it too, depending on my schedule.
