I didn't sleep well last night because of a slight sickness that I've developed. Today was a stressful day because of my first CS170 problem set due at 5pm. I had my CS170 lecture this morning from 9:30 to 11, and afterwards went to main stacks and worked on my problem set there until about 3 in the afternoon.

From there, I turned in my homework and went home.

In the evening, I took my tripod out from the closet and took some 30 second exposure shots in and around the dwight apartments. I also took joseph's LED flashlight and tried to do some "light painting" with it.

When I went up to the third floor, I ran into aaron and tommy eating with sang and steve in apartment 9. Aaron asked me if I could do the light painting portraits for him too. We went into his room and took some longer exposure photographs with lights placed in interesting places.

Finally, we set the camera up looking out from his kitchen into the living room, took a couple flashlights each, and played around with "light graffiti".

Devotion time notes:

Acts 20

Something I find very notable about Paul is his perseverance through suffering. From the time he is converted by an encounter with Christ to the day he dies, Paul is constantly persecuted, attacked, and plotted against. Even in this chapter he is forced to change his plans because of a plot made against him by the Jews.

Despite these challenges, Paul does not show any indication of being discouraged or faltering in his mission to spread the gospel. When he is driven out of one place, he continues on to another. He himself says to the elders of Ephesis:

I served the Lord with great humility and with tears, although I was severely tested by the plots of the Jews. You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house.
Romans 20:19-20

How easy and tempting it must have been for Paul to simply go into hiding, and avoid all the troubles that he knew awaited him. Instead, he continues to boldly preach to the people publicly, and does not show any hesitation in doing so.

This doesn't only show how strong his perseverance was, but also how solid his faith was. His faith in God and in the gospel was one that was so geniune and real that it was the single purpose that consumed his life.
