I got a lot of work done at the self paced center after staying there for quite a few hours today. I fell a little behind after studying a couple weeks for midterms, so now I'm catching up on the projects and quizzes. In the evening after bible study we went to the basement of dwinelle to work on schoolwork.

What was it that the powerful people were doing “because it [was] in their power to do it”? What drove them to do these things?

They coveted the things that their fellow Israelites had and used their power and position to steal them. They did this because of greed and lust.

What warning is here for those who are placed in positions of privilege or power?

Those who abuse their power and position will bring disaster upon themselves. They will be ridiculed and taunted by their fellow men.

What are some steps/measures I can take to guard against potentially falling into such sin?

Being accountable to others, maintaining a healthy spiritual life, watching out for greed, lust, and pridefulness, being obedient to godly leadership, listening to the advice of others, etc...
