Two things changed today. The first was my hair at 2:20, and the second was the design of this photoblog. This is the second time I've redesigned this site. I can't believe I used the last design a whole year already... I'm moving to Berkeley in two days, so getting this redesign finished adds to the transition.
Devotion notes and thoughts:
1 Kings 1
Solomon succeeds David as King, despite the efforts of Adonijah to take the thone for himself.
Isaiah 46
Remember this, fix it in mind,
take it to heart, you rebels.
Remember the former things, those of long ago;
I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like me.
I make known the end from the beginning,
from ancient times, what is still to come.
I say: My purpose will stand,
and I will do all that I please.
Isaiah 47
God gave Israel into the hand of the Babylonians, yet the Babylonians did not show them mercy. Babylon eventually falls, just as predicted in Isaiah.
Mark 7
[Jesus] asked. "Don't you see that nothing that enters a man from the outside can make him 'unclean'? For it doesn't go into his heart but into his stomach, and then out of his body." (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods "clean.")
He went on: "What comes out of a man is what makes him 'unclean.' For from within, out of men's hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and make a man 'unclean.
