At 1pm Rachel and I visited anna very briefly before she goes off to taiwan until the middle of next month on a missions trip. Later I made a trip to costco and some stores in vacaville. In the evening my family went to the arboretum for a really long walk around the whole thing. The weather was nice and not too hot.

You might notice an extra person in the photographs with my family.

We have a girl staying over at our house for the week. She's the daughter of a friend of my parents, who needed a place to stay for a week before going back to china on friday. She just finished her freshman year here, but is half a year older than me.

Here's one of the biggest secrets for academics I still haven't shared:

In the beginning of my college career at UCD, I was browsing around the computer science department website when I stumbled upon a student website. The guy was a CSE major just like me, and on his page was a link to his unofficial transcript so far. Since he had taken all the classes I would have to take over the next two years, I thought it would be good to see how he did.

As I looked down quarter after quarter of grades, I was amazed at how well he was doing... His only flaw was in classes like History, where he got a B+.

That day, I saved his unofficial transcript on my computer and bookmarked it as "The Lee Transcript". I don't know his full name anymore, but only remember that his last name was Lee.

Every quarter at UCD, whenever I needed any motivation to work hard and do well, I opened up this transcript and looked at how Lee did. I would study his transcript a little and suddenly become motivated again to push onwards.

It's kind of weird, but it definitely worked for me. Hopefully some of you can find it helpful... Haha.
