Dodgeball palooza started tonight. I didn't work out today to conserve energy for the marathon event. Unfortunately, I was still a little sore from working out on wednesday. Our team consisted of Ross, me, trevor, james, todd, and jim. Our "regular season" matches were at 5pm, 11pm, and 5am. We barely slept.

Our first match at 5:25 was against the dingos. We defeated them quite easily 4 games to 1.

Afterwards we all went to the slaughterhouse to rest and relax while waiting for our next match. When Ross and I got there Todd was watching "The Protector" with trevor. Ross and I tried playing some computer games but that wasn't really fun. After a while we all came together to play some poker.

James wanted to have a high buy-in with real money, while some of us didn't want to play with money at all. In the end we compromised and had a $2 dollar buy in. Before we could finish the game, we had to go to our next match at 11:15pm.

The match was against at team called "Why Dodge These DodgeBalls". We started out extremely strong, and before long it was 3-0 in our favor. However, something went wrong and we started crumbling. After a while we found ourselves in a 3-3 tie. In the final and deciding round, we ended up tying the other team, and so the game went into a tiebreaking duel.

I was the dueler for our side, and went up against an opponent chosen from their team. We stood back to back, and when the ref blew his whistle, we started walking. At the second whistle, we had to turn around and immediately throw it at each other. When he blew the whistle, we chucked it at each other, and at first I thought both of our throws missed their mark.

However, one of the refs suddenly started indicating that the opponent's ball grazed my shoe. Noone else seemed to think that was the case, but since the ref made the call, we lost the game. Later on in the night, the same ref blew his whistle against another team that was playing when the ball flew past a guy with a considerable distance between. The ref said he heard the ball graze the player, and everyone started complaining about it. Oh well...

We were pretty sad while going back to the slaughterhouse at around midnight. We thought we could win our regular season pretty easily and guarantee a spot in the playoffs, but we completely crumbled after gaining a 3-0 lead and ended up losing the match on a bad call.

This event will be continued tomorrow... Check there.
