Grace alive had a fundraiser tonight called "An Evening with Grace Alive." This year it was a carnival/valentines day theme, and a lot of work went into preparing the different rooms. There was a carnival room, a magic show, a scary room, a racecar room, a mystery room, a craft room, and much more.

I haven't done extra pictures via links in my entries for a long time... I took hundreds of photos tonight, so I think I'll do it. It was hard choosing 20 photos to display.

I was part of the group that led the 3rd-5th graders. As we were waiting for the other kids to arrive, they played telephone. When everyone arrived, the kids lined up in the hallway to listen to instructions.

The kids were allowed to go around into any of the carnival rooms.

Katherine set up the carnival room with activities such as throwing a ball through holes in a board, pinning the nose on a clown, tossing ping pong balls into cups, and eating doughnuts without using your hands.

Jenna ran a very popular cakewalk. It was always packed and chaotic in there.

Rachel had a "mystery room" where the kids did things blindfolded. Activities included eating and drinking different things (like jello) blindfolded in pairs, and wearing random clothing.

Jennifer Tam had a karaoke room where kids could sing different things.

Trevor managed the racecar room, where Cars was playing on the TV and kids raced remote control cars on the "racetrack."

Kristina organized the crafts, where kids went and made things like newspaper hats.

Richard's scary room had a maze built with blankets and tables. The kids crawled through the maze in pitch black darkness while Richard and Ryan scared them with masks, music, and light.

Pat was the magician in the magic room, and Ben was his assistant. He did a lot of magic tricks and card tricks, and pulled them off nicely. The kids really enjoyed his shows.

At one point in the night, all the kids were gathered into the gym, to watch special performances by the band and litterbug.

Here is a picture for Todd, a picture for Rachel, a picture for Libby, two pictures for Keturah, two pictures for Grace, a picture for David, and many random portraits and pictures for a large number of parents.

This is probably one of the most comprehensive reviews of my photography I've ever posted to photoblog... I hope you enjoyed it. Comments are much appreciated.
