The 2006 North American Open began today for my brother. He had five rounds total, with four of them giving 40 minutes to each player, and the last one giving 3 hours to each player. My brother won his first match, but when I went and watched his second, he lost. He ended up winning the final three matches.

Entry fee for the tournament was 200 dollars. First prize in the tournament for my brothers section was about 6000 dollars.

The final opponent my brother faced was the highest ranked player in my brother's section. Sections of players are based on rating, so my brother falls into the Under 1800 section with his 1600+ rating.
