Intramural Soccer

I've been waiting all week for our first intramural soccer game today. Our team is named the "ATM Machines". Ross and I got invited onto the team by Chris. Ross and I have been "training" in the ARC for a few weeks now, shooting goals on each other in the indoor "field". Soccer is a lot different when its indoors.
I havn't played soccer this organized since I was really young, so I could barely wait throughout the week for this first game. Earlier in the day, Ross and I went to Big 5 where I got new soccer cleats and shin guards.
Five minutes before the game started, I rolled my ankle... by kicking the ground...

Rolled my ankle... by kicking the ground...
This brings me back to my point on how indoor soccer is so different. I've gotten used to playing indoor soccer, so my kicks usually graze the ground. On grass, however, it's a different story.
I ran up to the ball to kick it as hard as I could at the goal (to warm up), and my foot grazed the ground. Instead of kicking the ball, my foot slammed into the ground and my ankle rolled.
Luckily, it wasn't TOO bad, and after running around a bit I got it nice and numb so I could keep on playing. Haha.
The game did not go well at all. The other team seemed like they train year round for IM soccer, while most of our team didn't wear cleats and shin guards.
Next to us was a korean team that all wore red soccer jerseys, so they didn't need to wear the penny's at all. The korean team even had an enormous fanclub on the sideline that made a ton of noise every time anything happened. They're in our league, so we'll have to play team korea soon.
Our score wasn't even close. 0-3 or 0-4 or something. The ball basically stayed on our side of the field. Our team had exactly one chance to shoot, when Ross and I got a breakaway play, but we couldn't capitalize. Hopefully we'll do better in the coming games, but I'm not expecting anything anymore.
