I went rafting for the first time in my life today. Grace alive went to the sacramento river with three rafts. Will was the guide for our raft. It was pretty exciting. Three people fell out, including our main guide Aaron. Ashley fell out of our raft, and floated pretty far through the rapid before being rescued.

If you look at the pictures posted, it's pretty obvious that the picture quality goes downhill after the third photo. The last 17 pictures are from the 20$ waterproof digital camera I got at office max. It's pretty horrible... At least I saved SOME sort of memories from the rafting itself.

The water was freezing. Near the end of the many hour trip down the river, there was a really high rock that many of the guys and a few of the girls jumped off of. I took some pictures from the top but didn't jump because I didn't want to freeze to death.

Riding through a series of rapids for a few hours is like going on a great rollercoaster. Sometimes the raft dives into the water like crazy, and everyone gets wet. Othertimes unpredictable rapids do weird things to the raft, and people go flying out. At one rapid (the one that stole Ashley), our raft completely turned around and the front sank into the huge flow of rushing water. As the raft filled up in a second or two, the other grace alive raft came up and rammed ours while landing on top of me. Luckily I pushed my paddle aside before it landed on me, so I didn't get injured at all. The push was actually good, because it saved us from filling up and flipping or going under.

Rafting is extremely fun. It was one of the best times I've had so far this summer.
