My mom took a day off work to spend with my brother and I. We went to the outlet stores in vacaville, where I got some dress clothes, and my brother and I got a backpack. On the way home we stopped at the vacaville costco where my mom bought some more stuff while my brother and I had hotdogs for lunch.

The third and final wednesday night bible study barbeque was tonight. I brought meat for ditha and myself but forgot to bring buns. Mr. Perry spoke tonight and shared the basic gospel.

We decided to hang out after the barbeque. Ditha got a call from a strange number from her mom saying that she was locked out of the house. When she called back a really weird man picked up. Ditha soon found out that she had called a payphone. We went to her house, but her mom wasn't there. We went to Safeway (where we called from the payphone), but she wasn't there. Finally we went back to her house where her mom called again and said she was with her dad aready, so everything was fine.

We stayed there for a while before going to the coop to get some organic soy ice cream. There was a pretty strange person at the coop wearing a huge, neon green hat and big, round sunglasses. He was wearing a UC Davis shirt, so he probably goes to the same school as me, but I'm digressing. The real story is what happened with the soy ice cream.

After taking the ice cream to the checkout stand, we discovered that only Luthia had any cash at all. They began pooling together the spare change they had in their wallets/purses/bags/things/ears. Every time rachel contributed a quarter to the fun, she proclaimed "big money, big money." Some coins were dropped, so the whole scene was pretty weird and chaotic.

Finally we had the three dollars that we needed for ice cream. While standing in the checkout lane, we split the coins based on their value between us to count out the amount we needed. I was Mr. Dime. While we were scrambling and counting quite loudly, suddenly there was a bright light and loud trumpet blasts from the heavens. A man stretched out his arm and presented us with a $1 coupon for the soy ice cream we were purchasing. We were in awe at what had just happened, and everyone was laughing pretty hysterically.

When we finally purchased the ice cream, we found out that it was actually on sale, and that the sale price (before coupon) was $1.90. The sudden twist of events and good fortune was too much for us to bear. Phil fainted. Just kidding.

The ice cream ended up costing a penny short of a dollar. The cashier who saw everything that had happened told us to pay it forward. We went outside the store, finished the ice cream, and split up to our respective homes.

Thus the great soy adventure ended. Thank you God for fun, safe, and memorable fellowship.
