Today was the last day of the grace valley retreat. After communion at morning service, we packed up everything, ate the remaining food, cleaned the campgrounds, and then left the campsite. Most people from grace alive went to the beach, and we were planning to also, but then complications arose.

We were planning on driving home in jim's truck, but then realized that the truck couldn't be left alone while we had fun at the beach. In the end, we headed back to davis listening to jim's classical choir music.

In the morning, a group of people from grace alive got together to take a freezing morning plunge. I really don't like being cold, so I didn't join them. By the time they returned, jim had revived the campfire from last night using some branches.

Morning meeting and communion:

Train for life. Train a child in the way he should go. This is the very word of God. Where a child spends eternity depends on your training of them. Just as Christ is the head of the church, a father is the head of a family. Children: are gullible, lack good senses, are full of folly, are lawless, and disgrace their parents. Baptism does not save a child. Babies are sinful from conception and birth. Develop godly habits in children. Moral instruction opens the way to salvation. Naturally children do not go in the way of God and the way of righteousness. Godly habits last for eternity. Parents must believe this promise God made. This is a divine guarantee.

Moses' mother put into him the knowledge of God. Make decisions based on your children and what is good for them. Gideon said, "Where is the God our fathers spoke to us about?". His parents did the job right. Timothy, from infancy, was trained in the scriptures.

Be imitators of God therefore. Children learn by eye more than the ear. Expect obedience. Exactly, immediately, and with joy. Pray daily for the salvation of your children. Train your children to be attentive in God's word. Be careful with whom your children associate. What is learned learly is most tenaciously retained. If the promised results do not appear, then we did not meet the premise of the promise. Faith comes by hearing. Let them hear.
