I had a Calculus midterm today, so for the past few days I've been cramming and doing practice problems nonstop. The test went a little more smoothly than I expected, but I still might have made some random mistakes I didn't notice. I'm just satisfied that I did the best I could. That's what really matters right?

Ross came to dinner with us, and then Grace Alive. After the meeting at 8 something, I rode over to the ARC to play basketball and work out. Sadly, there was IM volleyball going on, so the main gym was unavailable for the second time in a row.

I decided to just use the weight room, and I got onto a treadmill after one opened up. Setting the incline to a maximum 15, I ran a mile in 15 minutes, or 4 miles per hour. Five minutes in, everything started burning, and the temptation to just hit the stop button and climb off was starting to grow. By the time 10 minutes rolled around, 99% of me felt like just climbing off, but I wanted to finish the 15 minute mile. The last few minutes were definitely a lot of suffering, and the movie playing in front of me didn't help. TNT was showing one of the "Blade" movies, which are basically the equivalent of Power Rangers for colorblind adults. I counted down the last 15 seconds of torture in my mind, and then hit the stop button exactly at 15 minutes, to the second.

When I hobbled off the treadmill, I was dizzy and my body didn't seem to feel like standing up. I walked over to the mats and just stretched until my face wasn't purple anymore. The running itself was a horrible experience, but afterwards it's satisfying. I think the more I get used to running miles on inclines, the easier normal flat miles will be for me. This is the second inclined mile I've run so far, with the first one being a 20 minute one.

For the rest of my time in the weight room, I used the bench and some free weights. I found a friendly looking guy that I benched with for quite a while. His name seems to have run away from my memory.

At 10pm, I walked over to the pavillion to look around. Turns out, basketball was going on in that place as an alternate location. It was really packed though, so playing would have been hard.

In a corner of the pavillion there were some people breakdancing, and in one area was the asian population of school. Seeing so many asian people playing ping pong and badminton reminded me of the cafeteria in high school.

As I was walking out of the ARC, I heard a dull thud every few seconds. I passed "dojo" room, and discovered the manly judo people. They were clustered in groups of three or four, and one person would take another and throw them into the ground. Immediately upon impact, the guy thrown would spring onto his feet and get thrown again. After a couple impacts, a new guy would step in to get thrown. Wow, were they manly. If the university took a census, they should be classified as "Davis' Mighty Men".

As I biked home, I passed by a sprinkler on campus that was acting more like a geyser. The mess was pretty big and loud.
