Tonight I went to the new student welcome events of two different fellowships. The first one was ABSKs, and it started at 5pm. After it concluded, I quickly grabbed food and went over to the Grace Alive event that started at 7pm. I met a lot of new people today, and finally others that are also incoming freshmen.

The ABSK New Student Welcome Night was extremely well organized and produced. The little movie they made was hilarious, with a light saber fight that looked and sounded like it came straight from the movie. The movie makers were very talented... The skit was also funny, and the pastor of berkland gave a short message about discovering your life's plans and goals. Afterwards, everyone went outside for a barbeque. I didn't really get to meet the freshmen at absk because I left shortly after getting my foot. The freshmen probably thought I was some dude that went to the thing just for the dinner.

When I got to Hunt 100, the Grace Alive people were ready to start inviting people in. I saw Todd right away, and he introduced me and showed me around. The program before the ice cream social for GA was a little less organized than ABSK, but the content was good and the things they presented were meaningful. They had worship, a few testimonies and messages, a slideshow, and then everyone went outside for ice cream.

Once outside, I talked to Todd for quite a while about various things, but then I didn't really see anyone I could talk to. ABSK's program was still going on at the Silo, with free tapioca tea and games, so I decided to go back there and meet people. I said my goodbyes, but before I left I hung around talking with Todd. After a while, I decided to actually stay and meet the people there. I got some ice cream, and then walked around talking to people. I've seen a lot of the upperclassmen before at Davis High, but I've never really talked to any of them. I think one of the main reasons I didn't like TCF too much was the fact that most of the people there were strangers. I felt a lot more comfortable being there once I actually talked to people. There were also a few people there that had experience in my major, and I got a lot of helpful advice from them.

Now that I've seen these two fellowships, I'm stuck with a major dilemma in my head. I really want to go to both, but I think it would be better to commit to one and devote my time to it. There's probably not enough time on my hands to do that anyways. This choice is many times harder than the choice I had for picking a college to go to. That's funny.

Once people started going home, a freshman named Laura said she was going to the ARC. Rachel, richard, and I havn't ever been inside before, so we decided to all go. After walking around the place and looking at all the different areas, I concluded that it's one of the coolest places I've ever been to in my life. The building seems to be endless, and has everything anyone could want to stay active. The workout room is massive with equipment and televisions everywhere. The basketball area looked like it was endless, and there's a suspended track above it. There's 8 different courts for racquetball, a place where someone was training for boxing, a place where people were breakdancing, a room where lots of girls and a guy were doing yoga or something, rockclimbing walls, and probably a lot of other stuff I can't remember anymore.

My first day of classes are tomorrow. One introductory business lecture and two discussions I might not have to go to. At 6 I think we're going to the ARC to exercise or something.
