Today was the last day of this years vbs. It was also the day the kids have traditionally played sponge and water balloon tossing. The past few years we've played it inside, which required a lot of work and preparation. This year, instead of tape and garbage bags, it was held outside, with basically no prep needed.

Everything through the day went by quickly, and then I went home to finish up what I needed to do for the slideshow. At 5, I went back to church for a special staff pizza dinner. At 6:45, all the children's parents came to church for "parents night", which is when the parents get to see all the songs the kids have learned, hear the children share, and look at pictures from the week. I went around and took more pictures until 7:30 or so, when the parents night was well into it's schedule.

I then ran to a back room where my laptop was, and finished up the slideshow. The slideshow ended up containing pictures from during "parents night", so when everyone watched the slideshow, they saw pictures from just a few minutes ago.

Praise God that everything went smoothly, and there wasn't any malfunctions from beginning to end. The program went by a lot faster than anyone expected, so I was very pressured during the last minute finalizing of the show. My heart was beating faster than any recent time I can remember. Finally when it was over, I could breathe a sigh of relief.

This years vbs was very successful. All the teachers and staff did exactly what they needed to do, and everyone stepped up into roles that were crucial to the week's success. Congratulations to everyone who helped out this year!
