We packed our bags in the morning and drove to the airport after breakfast. Since we were somewhat early, my brother and I had a lot of time to walk around, look at things, and take the horizontal escalator things. Through the window we could watch them load the baggage onto our plane and fuel up.
The plane trip took a little less than an hour, so there wasn't really much to do in terms of entertainment, but they provided us a pretty asian beef and rice lunch. After we landed and walked off the plane into the small Yantai airport, we were greeted by a lot of relatives and two of my uncle's drivers.
The baggage claim area was right around the corner, and everything was small airportish. We didn't spend too much time hanging around the airport before loading up the cars and driving two hours to Longkou, where my grandparents live. My brother and I had an older man driving us, who kept going light speed on the freeway. We kept going upwards of 150 kph, but since I've grown to trust drivers here in China, I didn't mind at all.
Upon arrival at my grandparents place, we went nextdoor to my uncles unused house, unloaded our luggage, and settled in. We immediately noticed the little hoop and balls on the wall. We'll definitely use those throughout the week we're here.
My brother and I then went outside for a walk around the city, trying to find the places we went to last time we were here. We were pretty disappointed with what we discovered. Most of the fun places we frequented last time were either gone or changed drastically. The dvd store moved all of the dvds to a back room (I wonder why) and had a much smaller selection. The cheap arcade we enjoyed was completely empty, and the building was closed. We finally walked back to our grndparents place without buying anything, and had dinner.
