Senior Ditch Day

Today was senior ditch day, which is an unofficial holiday for high school seniors to have fun. The teachers can't plainly allow all the students to leave, but they pretty much accept the fact that most won't be there. All of our teachers have been really nice about it, so anything can be made up.
At 8 something in the morning, our group met at bens house for breakfast. A few people didn't go in the morning because they had important periods they needed to sit through first at school. We didn't have any ingredients, so we went to safeway and shopped for ingredients to make breakfast. When we got back there wasn't any more eggs, so I drove to safeway to get some eggs. Finally, breakfast was french toast and omelettes. We pretty much sat around, watched tv, talked, and played some music.
At 10:45, ben and I went to school. Ben because he needs to, and me because I get a lot of extra credit for just showing up. The teacher marks you off, and then you can run away again. My 4th period class had possibly the biggest turnout of seniors in the school. Shes a cool teacher, so she gave us 20 points extra credit on our research paper just for showing up for a few minutes.
When I got back to the group at bens house, we filed into two cars, and drove to vacaville's sams club to buy supplies for the bbq we planned. We ate and drank a lot of samples there. When we got back, the three groups of us we all scattered around town. Our car stopped where it was most convenient for us to wait for them, which turned out to be the hospital. We walked around inside and outside for a while, before meeting up with everyone else at the marketplace, where they were relaxing and drinking jamba juice.
Thats when we planned to go watch star wars: revenge of the sith, which we discovered was showing at 4pm. Since it was only 1, the people that could go went to josephs house to play some video games. A few of the people had work and other obligations before the bbq, so they couldn't make it. At joes house, phil discovered that the dog didn't mind being thrown around from person to person.
Finally we decided to leave at fifteen minutes to 4, but realized we had no cars left, since some people left for their work from joes house, and took the cars. Phil had to go home, get his van, come back, and pick us up. We finally made it to the theater, but after a few people bought their tickets, discovered that there were no seats left. Everyone then changed plans to 5pm, and pushed the bbq back to 8pm.
The movie was pretty good. The preview for the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe makes me really want to watch it at the end of this year. This star wars is a lot more violent and gloomy than the others. It also has the corniest dialogue, but the action and story are very good.

The movie really reminded me of the epic battle between darth joseph, and I in the battle of the shadows and poles.
Afterwards, everyone scrambled around in different cars. John went to get charcoal at ace, we went to get drinks at rite aid, others went to scout the bbq site. We finally met at a changed location, and started trying to start the grill. A sprinkler turned on, and kept turning to spray in our direction unless we went every few minutes and turned it back around. Phil took a piece of concrete and put it over the sprinkler.
For whatever reason, we couldn't get the bbq going. There was no grill cover, and the charcoal just wouldn't get hot enough to turn gray. Jim kept on spraying lighter fluid on the fire, but it would continually go out. After a long while trying to get it going, hannah yang offered to let us use her house, and the bbq in the backyard. We then packed out stuff and started our short move to the house a few blocks away. That worked great, and there was a ton more stuff to do there, like table tennis and a trampoline.
After eating the massive hamburgers filled with phils awesome guacamole, some of us went inside and watched phantom of the opera. The music is pretty awesome. If only we all knew the tune and lyrics. I found it pretty funny how they all talked by singing. Hannah is pretty crazy about the movie. She saw it four times in theaters and is obsessed with the phantoms lips.

Finally the movie ended and it was around 12:45 in the morning, so the few of us remaining took our stuff and went home. What a crazy day. Awesome start to a "four" day weekend.
