This morning at seven, alp, joseph, and I met dale at mocha joes, and we started our trip towards modesto. Josephs parents came along to watch, and we arrived a lot earlier than expected. Upon arrival at the club, we sat around eating, talking, and going to the bathroom until we were asked to gather.

After going for a jog and jumping over a creek, we got ready for the upcoming matches and looked over the draw. The coaches had all gotten together, voted on top player seeding, and randomly came up with a draw. Joseph and I got a very nice draw, which slowly progressed in hardness. First we would play a non-seeded team, then fourth seed (we were third seed), then second seed, then first seed in finals. We won first match 6-2 6-3, and then we beat Colin Yee and Matt Anderson of Jesuit 6-4, 6-2. Tomorrow we're playing the two teams of Norcal seeded higher than us.

The club was nice. There was an awesome grass court, but the net wasn't set up. There was a chill room with sofas and cable tv. For lunch we went to Obrien Market and I got a BBQ chaka tri-tip sandwhich. We also sampled some five year old vintage gouda cheese. On the way back, we stopped at a coffee place, where alp got a chocolate shake and I got a mocha freeze.

Alp and I had our pictures taken yesterday during the granite bay match. Today our pictures appeared in the sports section of the paper. Alp was in a really weird position, and my face was pretty contorted.

In addition to the suits all us guys are wearing to senior ball this saturday, we're also making our own flowers. Someone from Rachels church offered to teach us and help us make them, so joseph and I hurried over to grace valley after we washed up. There was a lot of material on the table, and we learned how to make boutonnieres and corsages. The boutonniere I made for myself was kinda unique, with only one big flower, and not the design the other guys used. I didn't have to make a corsage, because I'm going stag. After we were done, we sprayed them with water, and then put them in plastic boxes.

Before we all went home, we played a little calvinball.
