I had another short day today, and instead of just not going to TA and leaving early, I asked my teacher if I could. She said there wasn't much for me to do, so I could leave but she would have to mark me absent. I call my mom to have her take care of it, and joe, andrea and I went to ink monkey.
We need to get t-shirts for our youth group, and josephs coordinating and handling it. After school, he needed to go to Ink monkey to check it out and get everything covered, so we came along. Theres a pretty big... shirt creation room in the back, and there was a guy with a giant mohawk.
After getting all the information we needed, we went downtown to just walk around and maybe get some businesses to sponsor our tennis team season. Armadillo music, the awesome cd store, took a letter from me and said they'd think about it. Jose and I took turns asking the business people. I went into a bagel place and gave them a letter. While explaining, it seemed like he didn't understand what I was saying or something (he was asian), and I started using hand gestures to make it clear I was talking about tennis. I think I later realized his english was fine.
I have discovered I have a problem at intersections. When I am turning left, and there is a left turn light as well as a normal forward light, I always feel like going when the forward light turns green. Joseph kept making weird, primitive noises when I started going when it was still red. I think he was scared for his life or something.
Ben called soon, and we all drove across town (15 second drive), and met him at the pig plaza to get food. We found out today that Rachel works at the jamba juice there, and she can get us nice special prices on stuff. Joy. We didn't get anything though, and for the longest time we couldn't think of where to go. Finally I just went home to eat our most wonderful burritos, and they drove off to eat somewhere.
On the way home, they pulled alongside me. I revved my engine a few times, and threw a penny into their car. Finally the light turned green, Ben peeled out, and shot off, while my white car sounded powerful but went about half his speed. I can't believe a Japanese minivan beat my awesome american car.
My mom spent an hour or two trying to make me a homemade burrito yesterday. It didn't taste all that great, but she spent a lot of time making it for me. Thanks mom. :-)
We went to tennis practice early today, because we had a fundraiser a bit later on. We were planning on staying only an hour, but we stayed for a lot longer, watching matches and playing, before leaving. Jason usurped Alps position today, beating him badly. Alp will probably win next time in a rematch though.
On the way to the fundraiser at lamppost pizza, we went to roger's tennis store, "Volleys". They took a really long time getting me what I needed, because roger himself wasn't there, and the girl messed up twice swiping the credit card. Finally I bought one set of string instead of two, two dampeners, and two undergrips. The string I bought on ebay still hasn't arrived yet.
The fundraiser itself was okay. We watched the tennis video Jarod's mom shot last year, over and over and over. Finally after the third or fourth time, I got sick of it and focused one eating my medium italian sausage pizza.
